If everything will be going well, we might see the Fulcrum for another 1-2 years in Bulgaria, before retirement. If Bulgaria will decide to buy the Gripen, it will be the third country to operate the jet, besides Hungary and the Czech Republic in Europe, not counting Sweden the “designer”. Slovakia, Botswana, Croatia, and India are in talks/or were connected through media reports, who are in talks with SAAB.

Bulgaria has decided to start talks with Sweden to acquire eight new Gripen combat jets made by SAAB, interim deputy prime minister Stefan Yanev said on Wednesday, as the Balkan country seeks to replace its ageing Soviet-designed MiG-29s.
