In 2019, the annual HEP exercise will take place in the Czech Republic under the label ‘Dark Blade’.
The following statement was announced many months ago by the European Defence Agency (EDA). In 2018, the same EDA’s Helicopter Exercise Programme (HEP) was held in Portugal called Hot Blade 2018, which focusd on helicopter Composite Air Operations (COMAO) missions in hot, high-altitude and dusty conditions. We can assume from the excersise name that Dark Blade will be about NVG flying and night missions.
