Excersise Sky Avanger 2018 – Čáslav, Czech Republic

From 18th to 29th June 2018, the Czech Air Force will organise an excersise called Sky Avenger at the Čáslav Air Base. From the Czech Air Force the JAS-39 Gripen and L-159 Alca from Čáslav base will be included in the exercise, Mil Mi-24/35 and Mi-171 helicopters from the 22nd Helicopter Base near Náměšť nad Oslavou and F-16C / D Fighting Falcon jets from the United States and the KC-135R is also promised. The International Exercise will be held on the basis of a long-standing collaboration with the Texas Air National Guard and the Nebraska Air National Guard, a total of six F-16s will engage in a joint training. The F-16’s will come from the 149th Fighter Wing.

The cooperation between the Czech Army and the above-mentioned National Guards was established in 1993 when its primary objective was to help the Czech Army in preparation for the NATO entry. During the years of cooperations, joint exercises were held in the Czech Republic or in Texas.

The last time the Texas Air National Guard came to the Czech Republic was in 2009.
