One IAR 99 crashed in Romania – both pilot ejected

Several local media reported that one IAR 99 training jet, crashed at Bacau, Romania. The aircraft took off from 95th Air Base, both pilots managed to eject and their condition is good, reported by the media.

„Avem un avion prăbuşit, IAR 99. Au început procedurile specifice. Piloţii s-au catapultat, sunt bine. Urmează procedurile specifice, vă ţinem la curent”, a declarat, pentru MEDIAFAX, Ministrul Apărării, Mihai Fifor.”

“We have a crashed plane, IAR 99. We have started the specific procedures. Pilots catapulted, they’re fine. Follow the specific procedures, we keep you posted, “Defense Minister Mihai Fifor told MEDIAFAX.”

One MiG-21 crashed not long ago during an Open Day airshow, where the pilot died, because of that the Câmpia Turzii airshow was postponed. No words at the moment if both crashes will affect the BIAS airshow.
