Slovakia was offerd F-16 Block 70/72 V Configuration Aircraft

Yesterdays news, the the US The State Department approved the possible sale of fourteen (14) F-16 Block 70/72 V configuration aircraft:

WASHINGTON, Apr. 4, 2018 – The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to Slovakia of F-16 Block 70/72 V configuration aircraft for an estimated cost of $2.91 billion. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale on April 3, 2018.

The Slovak Air Force (Vzdušné sily Ozbrojených síl Slovenskej republiky) still operates a small number of MiG-29 jets, at Sliac. Slovakia already did a deal with the US a few years ago, when the country bought several UH-60M helicopters, the first two arrived last year and were showed at SIAF 2017.
