On April 11, 2020, the world’s largest transport aircraft AN-225 Mriya departed from the Kyiv-Antonov-2 International Airport for the first commercial flight after maintenance and upgrading. AN-225 is involved in the transportation of humanitarian aid, medical equipment to fight the coranovirus from China to European countries.
AN-225 will become the sixth aircraft of Antonov Airlines, airlift subdivision of ANTONOV Company involved in missions on transportation of vital cargoes against COVID-19. Partialy the missions performed by five AN-124-100 Ruslans are made within the SALIS (Strategic Airlift Interim Solution) program in the interest of NATO and EU
