Pakistani F-16 crashed during Pakistan Day parade rehearsal

Islamabad, Pakistan: an F-16MLU Fighting Falcon fighter jet by the Pakistani Air Force crashed during today’s rehearsal flight before the Pakistan Day airshow and parade set to take place on the 23rd of March.  According to the official news, the pilot, Wing Commander Noman Akram, was died on impact. The F-16 crashed in a wooded area near Islamabad.

The official statement by the Pakistani Air Force said:

“Rescue teams have been dispatched towards the site of the crash,” the statement said, adding that “a board of inquiry has been ordered by Air Headquarters to determine the cause of accident”.

The Air Force is still investigating the cause of the crash.
