The famous Swedish Christmas-tree formation return this December

It’s a tradition for years that the Blekinge Air Force Wing (Blekinge flygflottilj, F 17 – Försvarsmakten) makes a long hike across Sweden with its Jas-39 Gripen 4th generation fighter aircrafts. The flypast is planned to Monday 16th of December. Of course flight planning always takes into account the weather factors, so a reverse day is a clear requirement: the appointed reverse day is the next day, Tuesday 17th of December. In last year, the squadron completed the flight with seventeen Jas-39C and Jas-39D Gripens.

The Skaraborg Air Force Wing (Skaraborgs flygflottilj F 7) already did its Christmas Tree formation yesterday (10th of December) in their region, around south-central Sweden.  Watch the squadron’s video about the flight:
