U.S. Air Force F-35 Demo Team preparing with flares for 2020
Unfortunately the European airshow visitors won’t see the U.S. Air Force F-35 Demonstration Team’s display during the upcoming season, but there is no doubt the fifth-generation fighter jet will appear in more and more places in Europe: we already know that the Royal Norwegian Air Force will perform flight-demonstration with its brand new F-35s at Rygge Air Show, and the Royal Air Force will also show the F-35s during the Royal International Air Tattoo (and probably a few more events across the UK).
It’s certain that this type is no longer a novelty in North America. The US Air Force flying demonstrations with the F-35 for years and the flying display programes are increasingly aggressive year after year. This year’s special will be some additional flare popping to the show:
The team flying some incredible maneuvers since the 2019 season showcasing a wide range of the aircraft’s capabilities showing a little more each year, like high alpha pass at a 30-degree angle of attack, inside and outside loops, along with sequential barrel rolls and the “falling leaf”.
